Dormitories

Options
  • Limited Linen - No towels, just bed linens.
  • Dorms will open on Sunday evening, and must be empty by 10 AM Thursday.
  • If you're staying for training, see the hotel option for Thursday / Friday night.
  • Check in on 6/20/2010 at 3 PM, Check out on 6/24/2010 at 10 AM.
  • South: Morrison - Bldg 190, upper-right of center of map on that page
  • North: Norton House - Bldg 186, left of center of map on that page
Cost
  • $46 per single occupancy per day
  • $23 per person for double occupancy per day
  • $19 per person for triple occupancy per day

If you know who you'll be rooming with, make a note in SharedDorm; if you don't have a roomie, list yourself in RoomatePreferences.

OSU Dorm Policies
WARNING - If you lose a key, you will be responsible for OSU's missing key fee of $125.

  • Parking available for $5 per day. Park in "C" lots for check-in and during your stay. On North Campus (Norton), this would include the Jesse Owens lot on Neil Avenue. On South Campus (Morrison), this would include the "C" lots adjacent to the Morrison Tower garage on 10th Avenue.

Here is the hotel information for YAPC::NA::2010 for the week of June 20th 2010. Please note that the hotel does offer a $10 fee (per direction) for Airport to Hotel transportation.

  • The hotel is not a dorm room. It's bigger, nicer, and more expensive.
  • Do to qualities the hotel has now offered to do an upgraded turndown for those staying with them, a special turndown with buckeye candy on the pillows.
  • Also, only the hotel is available for Thursday / Friday night if you're staying for training.

1 King Bed / 2 Queen Beds, Single Rate: $131, Double Rate: $131

To receive the negotiated group rate, participants should identify themselves as being with the YAPC North America program when making reservations. (You need to phone the Blackwell directly to get the YAPC group rate.)

Check-in / Check-out: Check in time is 3:00pm and check out time is 12:00pm. Requests for early check in and late check out are based upon availability and may have an additional charge.

Hotel Parking: The Blackwell offers Valet Parking for hotel guests and meeting attendees only. The overnight rate is $15 per day and is applied to the guest's folio.

Transportation from Airport: The Blackwell offers airport transportation for hotel and meeting attendees only, it is a first come, first serve basis and runs on a schedule. There is a fee of $10 per guest reservation each way and may be arranged at the time of reservation.
