Gitolite

Gitolite is beginning to pick up popularity. Unfortunately, its code is written by someone who thinks that regexes are the answer to everything (he's actually said that to me on IRC). As a result, it's Matt's Script Archive-quality code. I (Chris Nehren (‎apeiron‎)) would like to sit down with a bunch of similarly maintainability-oriented folks and beat this code into a form that we can be proud of.

Moose type validation/coercion

Moose Type validation and coercion is a hugely important part of MooseX::Method::Signatures but validation and coercion of values can be awfully slow. I (Piers Cawley (‎pdcawley‎)) would like to work on making type related code inlineable, thus making MooseX::Types::Structured faster and (my actual goal) making MooseX::Declare much faster at runtime.
