This mini tutorial will explain how grouping and (back)referencing works in regular expressions. Special attention will be paid to the new 5.10 features: named capture groups, %+ and %-, relative backreferencing, \g{ }, and group count resetting. We will also show how you can use (named) subpatters to write powerfull parsers.
