What was Perl’s role in early web culture, and how did Perl and its community help shape the web as we know it today? In this lighting talk I’ll introduce a 4-year research project I recently started in order to answer these questions. I’ll discuss how I arrived at the project, my initial ideas about Perl’s role in web history and most importantly about how those of you who are interested can help me get the story right.
