Wiki - AntiArrivalDinner

A smaller (and usually less expensive and more veg*n-friendly) alternative to the ArrivalDinner. We'll figure out the details later :)

Update: We have a reservation at Abay for 6pm on Sunday evening. If you're interested in coming but aren't currently on the list, please add your name, so I can give them an updated headcount Sunday morning if need be. (We have 17 signed up right now, and I made the reservation for 20, so we do have some leeway.) Expect dinner with tax/tip to cost about $15 (probably less) per person, and cash would be ideal. There's a bus that pretty much goes directly there from campus, but hopefully we can get a couple of people who are able and willing to drive. And I guess we'll meet somewhere at the dorms around 5:45 or so. Adri Mills

Suggestions

* China Palace - lots of veg options
* Abay Ethiopian Cuisine -
* Spice Island Tea House - interesting, tasty food, but probably cannot accommodate more than 10, and we'd need a reservation for 6+
* La Cucina Flegrea - also would require a reservation - a little pricier - recent reviews on citysearch suggest it may not be as good as it once was :(

I've been meaning to try Zenith, but their hours are very limited -- in fact, they aren't open at all during the "core" time of this YAPC. Rick Scott (‎shadowspar‎)

Zenith has some great food, but their hours are wack. Dave Rolsky (‎autarch‎)

I could go for some tasty Ethiopian myself, yum. Stevan Little (‎stevan‎)

Ethiopian sounds like a treat :) Nathaniel Smith (‎Nate‎)

More about Abay: I know they can handle large-ish groups of people, as long as we call ahead. It's a little further away from campus, but we can probably organize two or three drivers, depending on how many people want to go. They have a pretty extensive vegan menu, and I figure we can order a couple of combination platters to share. It's also wicked cheap. Adri Mills

Another vote for Ethiopian, but I'll need a ride. :) Jonathan Swartz

I vote for Spice Island Tea House or China Palace. Perrin Harkins (‎perrin‎)

Ok, so it's just over a week away, and with such a large group, we'll need a reservation wherever we end up. Is anyone *not* ok with Abay? And if not, where would you prefer to go? Adri Mills

Abay is some four blocks away from Sharp Edge, which is where the ArrivalDinner is going to be held. If Abay is cool, we should co-ordinate times so that we can ride-share. Rick Scott (‎shadowspar‎)

I'd vote for Abey as well. Eric Andreychek
