HTML::App is (yet another) framework written in Perl and JavaScript to aid in the creation of HTML applications with a focus on writing reusable components. HTML::App's macro-like capabilities extend a Perl templating framework, such as Mason by outputting HTML code.

The Perl classes abstract the HTML DOM, but can also be sub-classed and combined into more complex groupings or to form widgets. Widgets are active components on the browser and have corresponding JavaScript classes. These classes represent the widget on the browser and are used to control and receive events from the widget.

This talk will present the issues that turn up when trying to write reusable HTML application components with more traditional approaches and how HTML::App attempts to address them.
